Camera

Used to scan documents and to take photos for your cards, notes and files. The app asks the first time you use one of these functions, and the camera is only on while you take a photo or scan a page.

Microphone

Used when you record: voice notes, lectures that the AI turns into cards, and speaking practice with the AI. The app asks the first time you record, and the microphone is only in use while you are recording or speaking to the AI.

Photos

Used when you choose pictures for your cards, notes or files. Mindomax only receives the pictures you pick. On Android 12 and older, this appears as a request to access photos and files on your device.

Files

To import a PDF, image or audio file, you choose it in your device's own file browser or share it to Mindomax from another app. The app only receives the files you choose. On a Mac, Mindomax can only open files you select or drag into it.

Notifications

Used for your study reminders and to tell you when a focus timer ends. The app asks when it first offers you reminders or when you start a timer. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings.

Access that needs no prompt

Some things the system allows without asking you:

• Internet access, to sync your data and use the AI features
• Keeping the screen on while a focus timer is running, if you choose that
• Playing audio in the background on iPhone and iPad, so a recording keeps playing when you lock the screen

What Mindomax never asks for

The app does not ask for your location, your contacts, your calendar or your advertising ID.

Changing your choice

You can allow or revoke a permission at any time: on iPhone and iPad in Settings → Mindomax, on Android in Settings → Apps → Mindomax → Permissions, and on a Mac in System Settings under Privacy & Security and Notifications.

On the website

In the browser, the website asks for the microphone only when you use a voice feature, such as speaking practice with the AI. Your browser remembers your choice, and you can change it in the site settings next to the address bar.

What happens to what you capture

Photos, recordings and files you add are stored in your account like the rest of your content. When you use an AI feature with them, only what that feature needs is sent to the AI provider, as described in our privacy policy.
